Personal Finance and Hospitality
This course prepares students to understand economic activities and challenges of individuals and families. This course also prepares students to understand consumer rights; responsibilities and information; how to protect personal and family resources; career choices; investment types; planning for higher education and applying procedures for managing personal finances.
Hospitality objectives include etiquette; culinary basics; food safety; and table settings.
Course Offering: 7th grade
Interpersonal Relationships and Childcare
This course allows students to earn credentials in American Red Cross babysitting. Essential standards in this course include Understanding how to care for infants, toddlers and school-age children; Understanding the business of childcare; how to effectively and safely care for emergencies; and basic first aid. With the understanding Interpersonal unit, students will have the opportunity to explore the unique characteristics of self; the family unity; conflict resolution; and how to build self-esteem.

Apparel and Interior Design
In this hands-on course students are introduced to the basic elements and principles of design; the impact of function and marketing on clothing choices: Identifying sustainable designs; Grasping how to manage a living space. This course will also include introduction to textiles, historical perspectives and design, and career opportunities. Emphasis is placed on students applying these techniques to real life applications.
